Time To Go To The Museum Dah-ling (Yet Again): Holy Easels Batman: Adam West and Batman Inspired Art On Exhibit

The LA Times had a surprisingly thorough article about two new comic-themed art exhibits at the M Modern Gallery in Palm Springs, CA. First there's Beyond Batman: An Adam West Solo Art Exhibit. The exhibit features a number of Batman-themed works by the actor who played him on the TV series of the same name in the late 1960s. The pieces include Egghead and Others, which appears to be a watercolor with ink on paper.

A second exhibit, Gotham: A Group Artist Tribute to Batman includes works from a wide variety of contemporary artists working in a variety of mediums. The pieces include this beautiful one by Naoto Hattori entitled Batman (acrylic on board). Sorry. It's already sold, but it's still on exhibit.

Both exhibits will be open through July 23, so you better hurry on over to the desert. Mister Fanboy Art is quoted as saying "I'm not a big fan of watercolors so I don't have much to say that's positive about Adam's piece. Although, I am a H-U-G-E fan of David Mack's work ... so maybe it's a quality issue." SMACK. Uh-oh. Don't want to piss off Bats now, do we?
