Shatner to Host Gameshow

Truth be told, we dig the Shatner. For a whole bunch of reasons. The biggest is that he has no shame and that's just cool. Have you seen him in Boston Legal? The parent's of some of our staff suggested we catch it and it's hilarious. He plays a lecherous lawyer with the very beginnings of Alzheimer's Disease who essentially has no boundaries. It's a treat.

And have you heard his album Has Been that Ben Folds worked on with him? It's genius. We shit you not.

Anyway, we ran into the following buried in an article in the Washington Post. Could be really fun or really bad. That's the beauty of the Shatner.

William Shatner is going to host a game show for ABC called "Show Me the Money."
Details were sketchy, but do they really matter anyway? We can tell you that the players will have to answer trivia questions for money. And there's some "never-before-seen-mechanism" that can cut their prize to zero or boost it into the millions of dollars. You know, one of those shows that make a gal so proud to cover the TV industry for a living.
This one's from Endemol -- the brain trust behind "Deal or No Deal," "Fear Factor," "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and "Big Brother."
Shatner, currently starring as oversexed sleazebag attorney Denny Crane on ABC's "Boston Legal," has appeared on game shows -- "The Match Game" comes to mind -- and he was the best Miss Universe pageant host ever, but this will be his first time hosting a game show.
