Comic-Con 2007 Hotels: Going, Going, Gone

It appears that all of the conference hotels booked up in about an hour today for the 2007 Comic-Con in San Diego. Beginning at 9 AM PST, the Mister Fanboy Editorial Staff, armed with a cell phone and high speed internet connection, tried to get through to make a reservation. We had our priorities straight and were blowing off work for a bit. Clearly we weren't the only ones. Phones were busy for the full hour and the internet pages were going nowhere, presumably due to the high volume of traffic. Luckily, we did finally get a page to load and made reservations for one of the conference hotels, but the bummer is that it's not on the free shuttle path. It was our only option, so we took it. We do recall that last year that satellite parking was available at Qualcomm Stadium, and we suspect that it will be the same this year. What the hell is Quallcomm and why do they have a stadium?
Out of curiosity, we kept calling over the phone to see if we could get a better room. We finally got through to someone around 10:30 AM and all of the rooms were booked. Still, we are also guessing that folks sharing rooms all tried to reserve their own room and once they all confab, room reservations may be released (they didn't ask for $ up front to make a reservation). Or maybe the Comic-Con folks will be able to get more hotel rooms released. So we'll keep checking every morning to see if we can't get a room closer.

We're curious - How'd you do?

Mr. Fanboy,
Where are you, Friend? Did the gremlins eat the laptop again?
Ciao,
Amy

I'm really here. I had to go out of the country on business (just Mexico), and now my parents are visiting from North Cakalacky (Carolina). I'll post just as soon as I can. I have been thinking about the He Says/She Says Idea. Nothing has really popped in my head. Any ideas on your end. Feel free to send me a personal email ... which I haven't checked in a while so you might have already.
