Batwoman, Lesbian, Short-Cropped Hair Coming to a Comic Shop Near You

DC will reintroduce its Batwoman character later this summer. Reintroduce, you say? Yes, the Batwoman character was around (albeit briefly) in the 1950s/1960s but faded into obscurity. Eagle-eyed readers may have noticed her on one of the panels in the Infinite Crisis mini. Well, she's coming back to stay. Her name is Kate Kane, she's a lesbian, and friends with former Gotham P.D. detective Renee Montoya. That's about all we know. Did we mention she's a lesbian? Unfortunately, DC seems to be playing up on the shock value of the character's sexual preference more than anything. Or maybe not. The popular press had picked up on her preference for shag rugs only, not much else. We at Mister Fanboy are by no means against the addition of extra players in the Gotham canvas (there's already so many, what's one more?), but we hope she's not a one-trick pony, or mare in this case.
